Accessible Seats & Wheelchair Bookings
At the Regent Theatre, all of our accessible seats are downstairs in the STALLS. There are no lifts at the venue, making the upper level (Dress Circle) unsuitable for patrons who need level access seating.
Please Note: The main entrance of the theatre from the street has 14 steps. If you need level access into the theatre, there will be a Regent Theatre staff member waiting on street level who will be able to take you through the access lift. This will take you to the same level as the seats and accessible bathrooms.
If you have a wheelchair but can transfer to one of our seats, or you have a walker;
You are more than welcome to book any aisle seating.*
On the night, the ushers will assist you to your theatre seat. During the show, your wheelchair/walker will be stored at the back of the auditorium. The ushers will then bring it to you during intermission and at the end of the show.
*Row V in the Stalls has one step and is not recommended for patrons with mobility issues.
If you need to stay in your wheelchair;
You can call our dedicated customer service team on 1300 11 10 11 (option 2) and they will book you into designated wheelchair spaces.
There are four wheelchair positions in the stalls, each associated with companion seats. The allocated seats for the wheelchair position are removable if a patron prefers to remain in their wheelchair.
These seats are;
HH10, HH46, F9, & K6*
*Prices of these seats will change with each show.
Seat Size
We have two different seat types at the Regent Theatre.
All seats downstairs in the stalls, and in dress circle from row N back: seats are 535mm wide and have fixed arm rests.
Seats in rows A-M in the dress circle: seats are 575mm wide and have thinner armrests.
To enquire about wider seating options, please call us on 1300 11 10 11 (option 1).
Assistive Listening Devices
The Regent Theatre provides personal induction neck loops free of charge from the cloakroom, located to the left of Door 1 in the Stalls foyer. Patrons with hearing aids can utilise them by switching the "T" Switch, or Telecoil position. We can also provide headsets upon request.
Please provide ushers with your seating allocation upon collecting the device.
Our Assistive Listening Devices are compatible with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack if patrons wish to bring their own headsets.
We aim to do our best and ensure patrons using Assistive Listening Devices can experience the show fully. If there are any issues with a device, please see a Front of House staff member for assistance.
Accessible Performances
Some productions will schedule captioned, audio described, and/or AUSLAN interpreted performances. To Book seats with the best view of the interpreter or captioning monitor, a unique ticketing link will often be available via AUSLAN Stage Left's webpage or can call us on 1300 11 10 11 (option 2.)
Quiet Spaces and Dedicated Private Spaces
The Regent Theatre does not have a dedicated quiet or private space. During the show, the foyers are quiet, well-lit, and have seating available. Patrons with sensory sensitivities may find the theatrical experience overwhelming. There are aisle seats available for booking in case a quick exit is required. Please call Box Office on 1300 11 10 11 (option 2) for assistance booking or you can purchase tickets through Ticketek.
Please note that once exiting the auditorium, patrons may have to wait until a suitable break in the performance to be re-admitted to their seats.
If you need a private space away from the crowd, please speak to our Front of House team as they will be able to assist in finding an appropriate space.
